Royal Governance -The Sun of Peace and Happiness: Virtuous Leadership and Governance of The Dual System

In the past, Bhutan has wisely maneuvered through all major changes and overcome all challenges, under the auspices and guidance of the enlightened principles of the dual system of the synergy of religious and secular (Choed-Sidh) leadership. Due to this flourishing historical legacy, Bhutan is today the last surviving Dharma nation in our world.
Today, Bhutan is faced with myriad challenges of the modern times, and is on the crossroads of momentous changes in all spheres of life at a breathtaking pace. His Majesty the Druk Gyalpo is personally addressing all these critical challenges in the outer conditions of Bhutanese with a slew of visionary interventions. In the same light, to address the inner conditions of people’s view, conduct and and understanding, Lama Kunzang Dorjee Rinpoche, The founder of Jangsa saving Trust has painstakingly compiled this momentous book ‘King’s Governance – The Sun of Peace and Happiness’. This book, praised and highlighted by H.H. Kyabje Je Khenpo, is a momentous spiritual work of intervention and reinvigoration in such critical times.
This book is an in-depth exploration into what constitutes the historical roots and spiritual basis of a ‘Dharma Nation’ – the virtues of the enlightened leadership of the Choegyal (Dharmic King), and its citizenry in accord with the sacred dual system of Choe-Sidh.

With an eye on the immediate future, the book is revelatory and relevant in all fields of national life: from various cross-cutting macro issues of economy, agriculture, business, taxation, environment, politics, human resources, relationships, challenges, rules, administrations, policy and application remedies.

This book aims to arm Bhutanese across all spheres and walks of lives with the sacred guiding principles of the dual system to meet all challenges in the coming times while maintaining our sacred identity, legacy, and ethos, as we have so effectively done throughout our history.

This book that has is the bedrock of our nation core and ethos is however only available in ‘Chokye’ which is a major barrier to it’s widespread access and application. Therefore, Lama Kunzang Dorjee Rinpoche has envisioned a pool of contributing volunteers to help us in the process of translating the book into English, so that it can be widely made available to all important stakeholders in our society for widespread for both individual and institutional adoption and application.
Here is where you as a volunteer can contribute and be a part of this momentous work by Lama Kunzang Dorjee Rinpochhe. While we understand the contemporary constraints of time in our busy lives, we encourage everyone to play a part, however large or small, in this process as citizens who have benefitted from the sacred dual system of Choe-Sidh. Your efforts will be a cause of immense benefit to all present and future generations of Bhutanese who will have a more in- depth understanding and enhanced appreciation of the sacred dual system of Choe-Sidh. Therefore your contribution is also a most meritorious.

The translation committee of volunteers, various aspects of the work processes, etc, will bring to fruition the vision of Lama Kunzang Dorjee Rinpoche to strengthen, consolidate and enhance the roots of our sacred dual system of Choe-Sidh – for the present and future.

The Book is a compilation of instructions and principles that characterizes a Dharma Nation derived from the kanjur, tenjur, termas, biographies, prophesies of Lord Buddha, Guru Rinpoche, Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, and many great Buddhist masters down the ages.
